RA (Registration Authority)
A Registration Authority is the administrative unit responsible for registering and administering unique identifiers for users. An integral part of setting up a Registration Authority is the vetting process where user credentials are collected, inspected, and stored for access at a later date. The Registration Authority services offered by Verisec includes setting up and maintaining certified Registration Authorities for local and central government.
The entire process whereby a user is registered is verified by an independent auditor according to specific frameworks such as the Scheme for assessing the competence of Trust Service Providers within the context of ISO 27001.
