Advanced Authentication
Due to the increased frequency of so-called phishing attacks directed at large international Internet banks, the interest for advanced or strong Authentication (ID) has increased dramatically. In different geographies technology adoption has varied from certificate-based solutions ("PKI") to one-time password generators ("tokens") or EMV authentication.
Verisec’s offering ranges from token based through to PKI based solutions for mass-market deployment. We have to date deployed advanced authentication to over 2 million Internet banking customers.
Choice of solution is usually a balance between the need for security (e.g. strong ID), legal requirements (e.g. achieving legally binding contracts through the use of digital signatures) and cost (direct and indirect). Our consultants have worked extensively in large projects and can offer advice and recommendations for different technologies.

Multiple ID Schemes
Over time large banking environments tend to include multiple ID schemes for different user groups or applications. Consolidating these authentication methods may be valuable in order to:
- Lower costs for managing multiple ID methods
- Increasing security by reducing complexity
- Building strategic platforms for new technologies or migration (e.g. token to EMV)
Verisec has designed and implemented solutions for multiple ID environments, creating strategic platforms for new Web services. On the Swedish market, Verisec also offers a certified BankID solution.

Deployment of Security Devices
Deployment of security devices such as Tokens, EMV readers or PIN mailers is an integral part of the Verisec service offering. For banks wishing to deploy these devices in-house, Verisec offers the Athena Security Logistics Software for managing orders and for delivery and tracking of individual items. Athena can also be configured to manage central and local (e.g. branch office) inventory levels with alarms set to pre-defined threshold values.
