Verisec establishes e-ID subsidiary Press release Published 16 May, 2017 The IT security company Verisec today announced that it has established a wholly-owned subsidiary where operations for the new electronic ID Freja eID are to be conducted. The reason is to create a clearer group structure and distinguish the Freja eID service, which is based on a different business model than Verisec’s traditional business. The launch of the new Freja eID service towards end users is planned in August 2017. Freja eID is a mobile electronic identity that will be used for secure login and digital signatures to a wide range of online services. Thanks to a cooperation with ATG and their network of 2 000 retail stores across the country, Freja eID will also be able to carry out the physical identity vetting, which is required among other things, in order to apply for the quality mark Svensk e-legitimation from the government authority E-legitimationsnämnden. Johan Henrikson, CEO Verisec, comments: “The launch of Freja eID marks a new chapter in Verisec’s history. The cloud-based delivery model allows a completely different scalability with regard to the number of potential customers and end users, than we have achieved so far. Scalability is also possible through a new subscription-based business model. This, together with our desire to be straightforward in our different customer relations, makes a separate company for Freja eID the next natural step.“ For more information, please contact: Johan Henrikson, CEO Verisec Phone: +46 733-45 89 02 e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org Press release in PDF.
