Another four Swedish municipalities choose the e-identification service Freja eID

Press release

The IT security company Verisec, through its collaboration with its partner CGI, has signed agreements with four more Swedish municipalities, these municipalities will thereby add Freja eID as an identification method for citizens and employees for access to municipal services.

For citizens and municipal employees in Borgholm, Ystad, Mörbylånga and Klippan, the e-identification service Freja eID thus becomes available as an ID method when logging on to the respective municipal services. The Ystad-Österlen Region Environment Association, which is active in the areas of food, environment and health protection, also opens for Freja eID as an identification method.

Freja eID is a mobile e-ID available in three trust levels. The higher level, Freja eID Plus, corresponds to trust level 3 (LOA3) and has received the quality mark “Svensk e-legitimation” by DIGG – the Swedish Agency for Digital Government. Freja eID can thus be used both for private use, for example for citizens who use municipal online services, and as e-service ID for municipal employees for access to internal systems. Freja eID is an intuitive e-ID that can be used for secure identification, smooth login with two-factor authentication and legally binding electronic signatures.

Johan Henrikson, CEO Verisec comments:
“Digitization out in the municipalities is a necessity in order to cope with the need for welfare services and this means that secured identities are a fundamental prerequisite for success. With Freja eID, the municipalities have access to a mobile e-ID that fulfil all safety criteria, technical frameworks and regulatory requirements. Freja eID thus enables public players to digitize their operations swifter and easier. ”
