The City of Lidingö chooses Freja eID

Press release

The IT security company Verisec has signed an agreement with the City of Lidingö (Lidingö stad), which will thereby add Freja eID Plus as an identification method for access to the municipality’s e-services for citizens and employees.

Freja eID is a mobile e-ID available in three levels of trust. The higher level, Freja eID Plus, has been approved for the governmental quality mark Svensk e-legitimation by DIGG – The Agency for Digital Government. Freja eID is thus the only mobile e-ID that fulfils all requirements for both private use for citizens and as a service ID for public employees.

Investments in digitization within the municipal operations increases the dependence on ensuring that users’ identity can be ensured. The City of Lidingö can now offer its users Freja eID Plus – a future-assured e-ID for citizens, school students and service providers.

Johan Henrikson, CEO Verisec comments:
“In the digitization work that is now underway to increase accessibility and efficiency in school, healthcare and other municipal areas of responsibility, assured identities are a central part. More and more municipalities see the benefits of offering their users Freja eID Plus – a governmentally reviewed and quality-marked e-ID. Since Freja eID also supports many technical standards, such as SAML2, it can be used in many more systems than other established e-ID:s.”
