Significant increase in Freja eID customers

Freja eID, run by IT security company Verisec, shows a sharp customer increase – or an increase of so-called relying parties. Since the beginning of 2019 until today, the number of customers has increased by over 250%. The number of inquiries is also increasing very significantly in the wake of the Corona situation, which is driving a need for secure digital processes.

Today, 177 customers and partners have joined Freja eID and are found in both the public and private sectors. For example, 51 of the country’s municipalities have signed an agreement to use Freja eID for their citizens, employees or both. Among these are smaller municipalities such as Höör and Lilla Edet, as well as larger municipalities, such as Borås and Linköping. The Regions (former County Councils) are also joining and so far, the regions in Jönköping, Uppsala and Östergötland have signed agreements.

Among the authorities are now some of the country’s most widely used public e-services connected, for example, Bolagsverket/ Verksamt.se (the Swedish Companies Registration Office), Vårdguiden 1177.se (the Swedish Health Care Guide) and Pensionsmyndigheten (The Swedish Pensions Agency). Also, within the university world, the interest in Freja eID is growing and the first educational institution that got connected was Lund University.

In the private sector, Freja eID has now been established in a large number of industries; banking, gaming, education, e-commerce, signature services and cloud services. On the partner side, we have currently signed agreements with most of the system integrators operating in Sweden and which are a prerequisite for being able to integrate Freja eID with many of our customers.
